Human Interface Zone[NEW]
Outline
With VR, XR, and MR, the gap between “what is there” and “what we want to show” has narrowed. Examples include virtual displays and aerial touch panels that allow access to devices while displaying things that are not actually there. Additionally, displays that intuitively show measured data on 3D images of measured objects are being increasingly used in various fields. It is no longer sufficient to simply measure; how to “generate” intuitive displays has become crucial. Not only is it important to show existing objects or output numerical data, but also to provide clear displays and expressions that are easy for the recipient to understand, which means a human interface is required. This field is brimming with opportunities for cutting-edge optical technologies, including technologies related to aerial displays, optical systems and components that realize VR/XR/MR, systems and software, and technologies related to head-mounted displays and microdisplays. Moreover, intuitive expression systems that go beyond traditional measurement equipment displays are also a challenge in this field. As we reach a time when optical technology significantly contributes to human interfaces, we have established the “Human Interface Zone.”
